<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We’ve got a pair of weekend tickets to
giveaway for Cheshire Fest, which returns to Cheadle Hulme this summer with a
packed-programme of family entertainment, live music, food and drink. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The two-day family-friendly festival is twice
as big this year, featuring the region’s finest new talent and a fantastic
line-up of the UK’s best tribute acts across both days.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="700" height="467" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/70s-Stones-1-resized.jpg" alt="Rolling Stones Tribute Act 70s Stones" class="wp-image-3432" srcset="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/70s-Stones-1-resized.jpg 700w, https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/70s-Stones-1-resized-300x200.jpg 300w, https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/70s-Stones-1-resized-332x222.jpg 332w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /><figcaption>70s Stones</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The main stage will host leading tributes
to the Killers, Kasabian, Bruno Mars, Little Mix, Queen, Pink and The Rolling
Stones.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Fillers and Kazabian will play on
Saturday 1 June when the ‘Big Hitters’ theme promises a line-up of rock ‘n’
roll, indie pop and festival favourite inspired artists. They join headliners
Kings Ov Leon, along with The Phonics (Stereophonics) and Tina Turner tribute Totally
Tina. The Sunday line-up includes The Stones and Vicky Jackson as Pink, Queen
tribute Flash, Bruno – A Tribute To Bruno Mars and Little Mix tribute band
Little Fix.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" width="600" height="400" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Kazabian-Live-Shot-2-resized.jpg" alt="Kasabian Tribute act Kazabian Live" class="wp-image-3433" srcset="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Kazabian-Live-Shot-2-resized.jpg 600w, https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Kazabian-Live-Shot-2-resized-300x200.jpg 300w, https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Kazabian-Live-Shot-2-resized-332x222.jpg 332w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption>Kazabian Live</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In addition to the Main Stage line-up the
festival has added an acoustic stage with a line-up of more than 20 homegrown
talent and rising stars of music performing a mix of original material and
well-known classics.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The line-up
includes Mancunian Indie folk artist David Gorman with a set featuring catchy
melodies and heartfelt lyrics, mixed with delicate guitar; singer songwriter
Jack Woodward, who released his second EP Higher to acclaim in 2018; rising
star Jess Kemp, whose music has been featured on BBC Introducing and Radio 2; while
Chris Tavener promises witty lyrics and a vintage sound.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The new stage
zone is set amongst deckchair seating, hay bales and bunting, offering
festivalgoers the chance to chill-out in relaxing family friendly environment.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="700" height="462" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Cheshire-Fest-Image-1.jpg" alt="A stage at Cheshire Fest " class="wp-image-3435" srcset="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Cheshire-Fest-Image-1.jpg 700w, https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/03/Cheshire-Fest-Image-1-300x198.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /><figcaption>Cheshire Fest </figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A new show
celebrating the life and musical talent of legendary American singer songwriter
Paul Simon heads to Bolton in April and we have a pair of tickets to giveaway
to one lucky reader.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In this
poignant and critically acclaimed show, Liverpool singer songwriter Gary Edward
Jones takes to the stage to tell the unique story of one of his idols,
combining visuals, stage design, storytelling and, of course, that iconic music
and incredible songs.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="700" height="560" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/02/Something-About-Simon-2-credit-Anthony-Robling.jpg" alt="Something About Simon. Credit Anthony Robling" class="wp-image-3193" srcset="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/02/Something-About-Simon-2-credit-Anthony-Robling.jpg 700w, https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/02/Something-About-Simon-2-credit-Anthony-Robling-300x240.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /><figcaption>Something About Simon. Credit Anthony Robling</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A natural
storyteller, with charisma and warm Liverpudlian charm, Gary weaves together
songs and stories that cross the Atlantic, from New Jersey to the North West of
England. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The show is billed as honouring the musician and his music rather than a traditional tribute show. It follows Simon’s career from his early global success with duo Simon and Garfunkel to his incredible solo career, which included 13 multi-million selling albums and 16 Grammy Awards. And alongside tales from Simon&#8217;s life the evening includes a string of his hits from ballads like, The Sound of Silence, America and Kathy’s Song, to the more upbeat Me And Julio, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover and Wristband.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The show premiered in Liverpool, where it enjoyed a successful two-night pilot run at the Epstein Theatre in Autumn 2018. And after receiving 5-star reviews producer Bill Elms is lining up more dates across the region. “Feedback from the pilot run was incredible an inspiring, and it made us even more determined to take the story on the road, where it belongs,” says Bill.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Performer Gary adds: “We thoroughly enjoyed the creative process for Something About Simon, taking the show from paper to rehearsals to stage. We were completely overwhelmed by the audience response, and now we cannot wait for the next phase in the show’s development – first stop the Albert Halls in Spring.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Something About Simon is at <a href="http://www.alberthalls-bolton.co.uk/">Albert Halls Bolton</a> on 27 April 2019. Visit <a href="http://www.somethingaboutsimon.com">website</a> for details.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We are
giving away a family ticket to Regal Entertainments’ smash hit production of
Beauty and the Beast at The Stockport Plaza in April.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Channel 5 Milkshake’s Kiera-Nicole Brennan leads the cast as the show’s Beauty heroine, Belle who falls for the unlikeliest of princes, who has been cursed into the form of a hideous Beast.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="700" height="466" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/02/BATB-6-Credit-David-Munn-Photography.jpg" alt="Beauty and the Beast. Credit: David Munn Photography</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Also competing for Belle’s heart is Philip McGuinness as the brutish Gaston. Lewis Devine, whose previous comic panto roles include Buttons in Cinderella, and as Muddles in Snow White at St Helens Theatre Royal, is all set to cause mayhem and mischief as French Frank. Sarah Walker adds extra sparkle as Fairy Rose. And the hilarious, Si Foster completes the cast as Potty Polly.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="700" height="466" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/02/BATB-9-Credit-David-Munn-Photography.jpg" alt="Beauty and the Beast. Credit: David Munn Photography</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Beauty and the Beast Producer, Chantelle Nolan says: “We’re very excited
to be bringing this production of Beauty and the Beast to Stockport. The show
went down a storm at St Helens Theatre Royal during October half-term so we can
guarantee a magical panto time at Stockport for Easter 2019.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This enchanting
version of the classic fairy-tale is part of a growing trend for Easter
pantomimes and has all the comedy, songs and audience interaction you’d expect from
a traditional festive version.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="532" src="https://quayslife.com/storage/2019/02/BATB-1-Credit-David-Munn-Photography.jpg" alt="Beauty and the Beast. Credit: David Munn Photography</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Stockport Plaza Manager, Ted Doan says: “The Plaza has a history of
providing the finest and most sensational affordable family entertainment for
all ages to enjoy with our magnificent Easter Pantomimes and welcoming Regal
Entertainments back this year with Beauty and the Beast will ensure that this annual
tradition receives the right royal treatment that only Regal can provide!”</p>

<p>This heart-warming new Christmas show tells the story of Ted, a lonely old soul, who lives alone in the big city. Then, one morning his life is changed forever when a mysterious helping hand steps in and disrupts his quiet routine.</p>
<p>Featuring actor, Guy Hargreaves and a mix of puppetry, live music and song, the show is an optimistic story of friendship and hope aimed at children aged 3-7.</p>
<p>Guy has previously worked with Rochdale-based M6 on their original tour of &#8216;Whatever the Weather, which won an Off West End Theatre Award in 2016 for Best Production for Young People (0-7 years).</p>

<p>Gilly Baskeyfield who created the show with director Andy Manley says: “The idea for the show came from a chat with Andy about stories of redemption and helping a sad character, much like ‘A Christmas Carol.’ Giving a gift is a lovely thing for both parties. It’s a way of noticing somebody and saying, ‘I remember you.”</p>
