Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter is a hive of independent shopping and bars.
George’s Bar and Kitchen on High Street is the latest venue to join the buzzing Bohemian vibe, offering a range of classic and house creation cocktails, and a wide selection of craft beers.
The area has become a popular spot for film-makers, most recently being the backdrop for the new Marvel Superhero movie, Morbius. The area’s gothic looking buildings with outside metal fire-escapes have often been transformed for the big screen into down-town New York.
And George’s Bar and Kitchen, a new venture from the creative minds behind the Magical Christmas Movie Experience and Valentine’s Movie Experience pop-up cinema events, is sticking to the American theme for its menu, which has been inspired by an American food truck.
“Think big, bold, over portioned and dirty sandwiches, sticky ribs and succulent steak,” says joint-owner, Michael Ferguson. “The cocktail menu will include fruity twists on the classics, plus some amazing in-house creations such as the Sweet Pisco Punch and our Angostura’s sour.”
The venue also boasts live-entertainment running 7-nights a week, including live music, open mic nights and regular DJ sets.
For the opening weekend, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 June 2019, all guests will receive a free welcome drink on arrival as well as a selection of canapes and tasters from the food menu and free drink card. Entertainment for the opening celebration includes a DJ sets from Suck It and Spin on Friday and Saturday evenings, and an exclusive acoustic performance from Mike Dignam on Saturday afternoon between 1:30pm and 3:15pm.
Michael adds: “We are extremely excited to bring this brand-new venture to the heart of Manchester. We have been working hard to create a venue that will cater to all tastes and the end result – George’s Bar and Kitchen promises just that, offering great variety and the very best in food, drink and entertainment”.
