Dantoy My Little Kitchen – Kitchen Play Set: Toy Review

Home » Reviews » Dantoy My Little Kitchen – Kitchen Play Set: Toy Review

Kitchen play sets are a toy all young children should have access to, given that they help strengthen social and fine-motor skills, improve hand eye co-ordination and trigger their imagination. To meet this need, Danish toy manufacturers, Dantoy have produced the My Little Kitchen – Kitchen Play Set.

This set is ideal for toddlers and young children to play house and copy their parents. The variation within the set includes everything a child could possibly want to allow them to imitate baking, cooking, tea parties and meal times. There is a set of plates, bowls, cups, saucers and cutlery for a four place setting as well as pots, pans, pastry cutters and more. It even comes with its own washing up rack!

All 59 pieces are made from strong plastic in primary colours that are sized well for little hands. The Nordic Ecolabel is shown on the box, which certifies that the product is free from phthalates, meets strict environmental requirements and that all relevant health considerations have been made.

At 9-years-old, my son is much older than the target range for the set but he was genuinely excited by the vast array of different utensils. He was keen to test that the toys could be used like real cooking implements and got to work straight away.

The knives, although understandably blunt as befits a child’s toy, are still strong enough to cut through mini-cucumbers and butter a bread bun. The teapot and cups hold liquid without any leaks and in fact, the teapot pours so well the table stayed dry.

The mixing bowl and the whisk were used to make cupcakes and the toys survived a cleaning in the dishwasher.

There is so much packed into this little box you will do well to get it all back in again once you are full after your imaginary (or in my case real) afternoon tea.

The Dantoy kitchen set is available from Amazon.
